Who may be of assistance (once in Spain)?
What is the program about? The English Language and Culture Assistants provides university students and graduates, native speakers of English, with the opportunity to support English teachers in Spain.
How long? Assistants will spend a full academic year in Spain, October 1, 2020 to May 31, 2021 (Madrid: October 1 through June 30), assisting Spanish teachers for 12-16 hours a week.
How much? They receive medical insurance and a monthly stipend of €700-€1,000 (tax-free) to cover for accommodation and food expenses.
Important notice for applicants who hold a US and a passport issued by a country within the European Union, or a Canadian and a passport issued by a country within the European Union, simultaneously. Please note that prior to arriving in Spain you must obtain a police background check and have it accompanied by a The Hague Apostille (US citizens) or a legalization (Canadian citizens).
Note 1 on visa application.- Please make one notarized copy of the following documents you will need for your visa application: 1) your background check and 2) your medical certificate. Upon arrival at your destination in Spain you will need to present both copies to the administrators at the school assigned.
