All placements for the 2022-2023 school year have been given out. We thank you for partipation in the program.
September 10, 2022
We have been getting emails asking us if placements are still being given out. As you know, this is done in Spain and we are based in the US and Canada. To this end, the Ministry of Education of Spain has informed us that placements are still being given out. In addition, there have been withdrawals and these positions also need to be filled. If you receive a late placement, please know that schools in Spain will be accommodating concerning delays, as they are aware that you will have to apply for a visa. Just make sure to keep them updated with your situation.
Unfortunately, we are unable to inform everyone individually that they will not receive a placement due to the administrative complexity of the program with so many offices involved. Once we are officially informed that no more placements will be given out, we will post this information on our website.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and thank you for your interest in NALCAP.

Due to precautionary measures against cyberattacks set up by the Ministry of Education of Spain, when entering any of the Ministry websites, you may see the following message. Please do not pay any attention to it and click on *Proceed to sede.educacion.es (unsafe)*. We assure you that it is safe to click there and go into the website. No worries!
Once you have an ADMITIDA status, you have to wait until you receive a regional placement. Please see our timeline for a general idea. We appreciate your patience.
You will receive the following message from this email address firstname.lastname@example.org
DESC_ZONA_GEOGRAFICA will be substituted by the name of the region of Spain.
Please remember that you have 3 days to either accept or decline the placement. You will ONLY be accepting or declining on the PROFEX platform following the instructions in section 2.6 of the Application Guidelines. This is the only way to do it. You do not have to send anyone an email.
You cannot apply for a visa until July 1 (3 months before your start date in Spain). You must also have received your Letter of Acceptance in order to apply.
However, in order to get the process rolling, once you have a PLAZA ACEPTADA status you can begin to gather the required paperwork for your visa application, especially the background check as it takes longer.
Kindly note that both the background check and its corresponding legalization (the Apostille) are handled by American offices and that these processes may take many weeks at certain locations. In most cases, you will also have to translate the background check.
Background checks cannot be over 5 months old once you hand it in with your visa application.
Check for specific requirements with your local Consulate General of Spain.
Background checks now have a validity of 5 months.
They must also be FBI background checks.
Please request a background check as soon as you accept your regional placement and your status on PROFEX is PLAZA ACEPTADA.
